Students weren't meant to sit in a chair to learn all day. At Eton, whether in or out of PE classes, our students are up and moving and learning. We know the power that movement has on learning, and our PE department prides itself on developing ways for students to center themselves for optimal academic and personal growth and success.
When the weather is nice, you'll see our students beginning their day with yoga in the courtyard. You'll see creative and fun ways to integrate the Eton Essentials throughout our PE curriculum. Students may take part in a Ninja Warrior training day, while focusing on conflict resolution and teamwork, or head off to a high ropes course to work on self-advocacy and resilience.
Creating a Positive Experience for All Students
Promoting a positive experience through exercise for all students, Eton's PE teachers focus on good sportsmanship, positive attitudes, team building and personal initiative.
Activities are customized by the PE teachers, accommodate all needs, and include all students. Nobody sits the bench, or is cut from a team. As a part of our direct and explicit instruction, students are taught ways to be inclusive and identify and focus on team members strengths.
